Freedom PR founder, Abigail Segall worked with Dermalogica across three agencies for 20 years. Under Abigail and Freedom PR’s care, Dermalogica grew to become the world’s number one professional skincare brand, found in over 80 countries across the globe. As a company, Dermalogica did not advertise, relying on PR and marketing to promote its brand values and products. In the time that Abigail worked with Dermalogica, the PR grew from 173 cuttings to consistently achieving over 1,000 cuttings annually. Freedom PR promoted Dermalogica in the UK and Ireland with a programme based on strong media relations (print, broadcast, online and social), creative launches and below the line activities. Dermalogica had very strong, specific brand values and Freedom PR worked as part of the team to ensure that these were protected and promoted effectively.
Freedom PR was responsible for the launch of UGG Australia in the UK. Before introducing the brand to the press, Freedom PR initiated celebrity seeding, sending pairs to celebrities including David, Victoria and Brooklyn Beckham, Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Denise Van Outen, Tamzin Outhwaite amongst others. The products were then launched to press and stylists and an on-going media relations campaign was initiated. Other activities included mailing key fashion journalists a pair of slippers to give their feet a break during Fashion Weeks. Freedom PR worked for both the UK Distributor and the importer and as part of our work with the latter, we created the Walk Of Art programme to raise money for the NSPCC. Celebrities including Robbie Williams, Victoria Beckham and Cat Deeley were invited to decorate a pair of UGGs which were then auctioned through lastminute.com and at a fundraising evening held at the V&A.
